Bernadeth looked at Josh after they finished the first parable. O Kuya, saan 'yung susunod? Bernadeth asked. Josh turned the page. Buksan mo sa Matthew 13:24-30, tapos 36-43. Doon 'yung Parable of the Weeds. Josh replied.

Wheat and weeds growing side by side in a field at golden hour

Bernadeth found the passage and began reading: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” She continued with Jesus’ explanation to the disciples, then closed the Bible. Bakit hindi agad hinila 'yung weeds? Parang ang tagal maghintay. Bernadeth said. Josh looked at the page. Kasi kung hihilahin mo agad, baka madamay 'yung wheat. Minsan 'yung mabuti at 'yung masama, magkahalo hanggang sa tamang panahon. Josh answered. Parang sa totoong buhay. Minsan gusto nating maayos agad ang lahat. Gusto nating mawala agad 'yung masama. Pero hindi ganon ka-simple. Bernadeth replied. Oo. 'Yung master sa parable hindi weak. Siya ang may control. Pero pinili niyang maghintay para hindi masaktan 'yung wheat. Josh said.

Bernadeth closed the Bible gently. Saan 'yung next, Kuya? she asked. Buksan mo sa Matthew 13:31-32. Doon 'yung Parable of the Mustard Seed. Josh replied. → We continue with The Parable of the Mustard Seed on October 5, at 11:23 AM.
