The small town was quieter than we expected. After following the directions from the yellowed note, we found ourselves standing in front of a simple wooden house. An elderly man was sitting outside, as if he had been waiting for a long time.
Magandang araw po. I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
The old man looked at us carefully. His eyes moved from me to Bernadeth, then back again. There was no surprise in his face — only recognition.
Bernadeth stepped forward a little and carefully spoke the password written on the note. For a moment, the air felt heavier. Then the old man nodded slowly.

We carefully held the heavy cloth package and thanked the old man. As we walked back to the car, none of us spoke for a while.
Papa Franz started the engine. I sat in front beside him while Bernadeth stayed in the back, keeping the package close to her. The road home felt longer than usual, as if the weight we were carrying was more than just cloth and folded fabric. → story continues in Chapter 4!

Some doors do not open with force. They open only when the right words are spoken by the right hands. That day, a simple password turned a quiet meeting into the next step of a much longer journey.
